Adit is Adit Communications, Inc.’s patient engagement platform that runs a practice’s phones, two-way texting, appointment reminders, digital forms, payments and online reviews from one system, with an AI Front Desk agent for after-hours and missed calls. It sells to dental, optometry, chiropractic and orthodontic practices, and it publishes no prices: pricing is on request (checked October 21, 2026).
Quick verdict
Adit suits a practice that wants one vendor for phones, patient texting, reminders, forms and payments, and that runs a PMS Adit connects to. On Capterra, most reviewers in our sample praise Adit’s support, and many say it costs less than the system they left, often Weave. The recurring complaints are glitches, a learning curve, support that is slow or hard to understand, and PMS sync gaps.
Before you sign, ask Adit four things. Which of your PMS’s features sync, and how often? Will it sign a business associate agreement (BAA)? The vendor calls its texting HIPAA compliant, but the saved pages don’t mention one. What does “No Contracts” mean next to its 1-year Performance Marketing Program? And who answers the phone on weekends?

What is Adit?
Adit is an all-in-one communication and operations platform for healthcare practices that combines a cloud phone system (Adit Voice) with patient texting, email, reminders, forms, scheduling, payments and analytics. Adit says it is used by over 5,000 practices and 30K+ active users, and that it handles 2.4M+ calls every month. Those are the vendor’s figures.
The vendor sorts its products into five groups: communications (Adit Voice, texting, email, internal chat, eFax, mobile app), operations (digital forms, online scheduling, reminders, reviews, tasks), production (practice analytics, treatment plans, CareCredit, patient recall), collections (Adit Pay, insurance verifications, claims, payment posting, denial management, accounts receivable) and Adit AI. Adit also sells website design, SEO and Google and Facebook ads.
Adit isn’t only for dentistry. Its menus list dental, optometry, chiropractic and orthodontics, and one page’s footer adds urgent care, ER, medicine and dermatology. Dental comes first in those lists, and the site leans on it: the home page shows dental case studies, the analytics include a Morning Huddle, and the demo form asks for your PMS from a list made up mostly of dental systems, such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft and Open Dental.
Key features
Adit’s main features are its phone system, two-way and mass texting, automated reminders, digital forms, payments and three AI tools, as listed on Adit’s home, texting and production pages (October 21, 2026). Which features come in which package isn’t stated, because the pricing page has no plan list:
- Phones: Adit Voice VoIP service, call tracking, eFax and a mobile app; a sign-up offer on October 21, 2026 promised “Free phones & VoIP for life”
- Texting: two-way texting from a computer or phone, and mass texting for campaigns such as office closures, overdue exam reminders, unscheduled treatment follow-ups and post-appointment thank-yous
- Reminders: automated text reminders; Adit says patients can reply to reschedule, which notifies the office
- HIPAA consent tool: a text asks patients to reply “consent” before you send protected health information, and the account is then marked as consented, per the vendor
- Forms and scheduling: digital forms that work on iPads, Android tablets and Kindle Fires, and online scheduling
- Payments and billing: Adit Pay, CareCredit financing, insurance verifications, claims, payment posting and denial management
- Reviews and recall: review requests with private feedback links, and patient recall by text and email
- Analytics: practice analytics dashboards, a Morning Huddle, treatment plans and a practice health score
- AI tools: AI Front Desk for after-hours and missed calls, AI Call Intelligence, an AI Web Chat Agent, a CRM for leads, and AI Recare, marked “Coming Soon”
Adit vs. what a patient communication tool should have
Adit’s pages list two of the five must-haves on our patient communication checklist outright: two-way texting and automated reminders. PMS sync and HIPAA information are partial, because the integration list wasn’t in the saved pages and no BAA is mentioned. Support is judged from reviews alone, where praise far outnumbers complaints.

FDA status and privacy
Adit has no FDA listing under the vendor’s name: we searched the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases on October 21, 2026 and found none. Adit says its texting is HIPAA compliant and describes a HIPAA consent tool. The saved pages don’t mention a BAA, encryption or a security certification.
The FDA search used openFDA’s 510(k) and PMA device databases with Adit as the applicant and device name. Adit’s saved pages don’t mention the FDA.
On HIPAA, Adit’s texting page is titled “HIPAA Compliant Texting Software” and describes “real-time, HIPAA compliant messaging”. Those are the vendor’s words. The page also describes the consent tool: patients reply “consent” by text, and their account is marked as consented so the office can exchange protected health information with them later. We found no security page among the saved sources, and none of the pages say whether Adit signs a BAA. Ask for one, and for its security documentation, before you connect patient data.
One Capterra reviewer at a vision center raises a privacy point of their own: every employee can listen to recorded phone calls, which they see as a gap in access controls. Ask Adit what permission settings exist for call recordings.
Pricing
Adit pricing is on request (checked October 21, 2026). The pricing page shows an onboarding plan and an FAQ but no plans or prices, and points you to a demo. Adit says practices can cut their software costs by up to 60% by moving to it; that is the vendor’s own claim.
The pricing FAQ does cover usage fees and contracts. Adit says all plans include enough emails and texts for most practices, but that additional usage fees may apply for larger practices that mass-communicate; the page says those fees are “outlined above”, yet no fees appear in the saved text. On contracts, the FAQ says the tech packages “do not have any binding contracts” and you can cancel any time, then ties this to a Performance Marketing Program described as “a structured 1-year commitment”. The demo promo running on October 21, 2026 also required signing an annual agreement. Ask which one applies to you.
On Capterra, two reviewers mention paying yearly. One reviewer says the card processing rates rose after signing, and one says mass texting has per-send limits with additional fees.
Pros (from user reviews)
Capterra reviewers mostly praise Adit’s support, its ease of use, its price compared with their old vendor, and having phones, texts, forms and payments in one place. The sample is mixed: about two in five of the 200 reviews we read have a dental context, so several themes come mostly from medical, chiropractic, optometry and other offices.
- Most reviewers praise Adit’s support as helpful, responsive or quick, including more than half of the dental reviewers. Several say Adit staff call to check in without being asked.
- Many call Adit easy to use or easy to learn.
- Many say Adit is good value or costs less than the system they left, and many say they switched from Weave.
- Having phones, texting, forms, reminders and payments in one platform instead of several vendors comes up in many reviews.
- Two-way texting with patients gets praise from many reviewers, mostly non-dental ones.
- Reminders and confirmations get praise from many reviewers, and several say no-shows or missed appointments dropped.
- Digital forms and payments each get praise from many reviewers. A few say collections improved after they started taking payments through Adit, and one dental reviewer says payments post directly to Dentrix.
- Many say Adit works well with their PMS. Most of these are dental reviewers, and the systems they name include Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
- Many praise the phones and call tracking, and a few single out call recording. Most of the phone praise comes from dental reviewers.
- Many use the mobile app to answer calls and texts away from the office; this theme comes mostly from non-dental reviewers.
- Several like the analytics and Morning Huddle, several praise review requests (two say their review count went up), and several like Adit’s marketing and SEO service.
- One reviewer says the AI Front Desk handles most of their calls and books appointments.
Cons (from user reviews)
Capterra reviewers’ main complaints about Adit are glitches and lag, a learning curve, support that is slow or hard to reach, and PMS sync gaps. Glitch and support complaints come mostly from non-dental reviewers; sync gaps come mostly from dental ones. Several of the reviewers who report glitches add that support fixed them.
- Many report glitches: lag, freezes, programs that need restarting, outages and call-quality problems. Several describe phone problems such as static, calls cutting out or callers who can’t hear them, and a few say problems or outages trace back to their own internet connection.
- Many say Adit has a learning curve or is hard to navigate, often because it has so many features.
- Support is slow, ticket-bound or hard to reach for many reviewers. Several mention a language barrier, an overseas team or a different time zone, and two dental reviewers want weekend support. One non-dental reviewer says they cancelled after five months and more than 30 support tickets.
- PMS sync delays or integration gaps come up in many reviews, mostly from dental offices. A few say changes take a while to reach Adit from the PMS (one Eaglesoft office says 15 to 20 minutes, another office says an hour), and a few say payments don’t post to their PMS. One Dentrix office says forms reach the Doc Center but medical history doesn’t write back, and one SoftDent office says Adit can’t pull overdue patients for recall.
- Setup and phone porting were slow or rough for several reviewers.
- The insurance verification or billing services fall short for several reviewers. One dental reviewer calls Adit’s insurance billing service a disaster, while saying the software, phones and messaging work.
- Customization of templates, automations or reports is too limited for several, and several say updates slowed the system down or changed the layout.
- Patients get duplicate or extra messages, according to a few reviewers, such as a confirmation with every schedule change. A few dislike having to enter an email, signature or contact details on every form or payment, and a few find the automated voice hard to understand.
- The mobile app lacks scheduling, payments or phone-hour settings for a few reviewers, and a few report online scheduling problems such as double bookings.
Nine in ten of the 200 reviews we read give Adit 5 stars, and only one is marked incentivized by Capterra. The sample has no complaints about contract terms or cancellation fees.
Who it’s for
Adit fits a practice that wants its phones, patient texting, reminders, forms and payments from one vendor and is willing to sit through a demo to get a price. Reviewers on Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft report forms, schedules and communication syncing, though a few describe sync delays of minutes to an hour.
If you are on a less common PMS, ask Adit for a written list of what syncs, since one reviewer says integration is “less predictable with smaller or less common systems”. If your office opens on weekends, ask about weekend support: Adit’s pricing page promises “24/7 Support”, while its site footers list support hours of 7 AM to 7 PM CST, and the all-in-one platform page adds Monday to Friday. And if you want insurance verification or billing from Adit, ask for references: several reviewers say those services fall short.
FAQ
How much does Adit cost?
Pricing on request. Adit’s pricing page showed no plans or prices on October 21, 2026, only onboarding details and a demo booking form. The vendor says additional usage fees may apply for practices that send a lot of mass texts and emails.
Does Adit work with Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental?
Adit says it integrates with “most PMS” through direct integrations it builds itself, but the saved pages don’t list the systems. Capterra reviewers describe using Adit with Dentrix, Eaglesoft and Open Dental, and a few report slow syncs or payments that don’t post. Ask Adit which features sync with your PMS before you sign.
Is Adit HIPAA compliant, and does it sign a BAA?
Adit describes its texting as HIPAA compliant and offers a consent tool for exchanging protected health information by text. The saved pages don’t say whether Adit signs a business associate agreement, and we found no security page. Ask Adit for a BAA in writing before you connect patient data.
Does Adit require a contract?
Adit’s pricing FAQ says its tech packages have no binding contracts and you can cancel any time, but it ties this to a Performance Marketing Program described as a structured 1-year commitment. A demo promotion on October 21, 2026 required signing an annual agreement. Ask which terms apply to your quote.
What does Adit’s AI Front Desk do?
Adit says its AI Front Desk agent handles after-hours and missed calls, speaks with patients and understands their needs. The vendor says its AI has handled 500K+ calls and booked 150K+ appointments; those are Adit’s figures. One Capterra reviewer says it handles most of their calls and books appointments.
Is Adit FDA cleared?
No FDA listing was found under Adit’s name in the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, searched October 21, 2026. Adit is a communication and front-office platform, and its saved pages don’t mention the FDA.
How this review was put together
We didn’t use Adit ourselves. This review is built from Adit’s home, pricing, integrations, texting, production and all-in-one platform pages, a search of the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, and the first 200 of Adit’s 303 Capterra reviews in Capterra’s default order, written between March 27, 2025 and October 12, 2026. We counted review themes only where a review states the point, and checked which reviews have a dental context. All sources were checked on October 21, 2026.
