Rectangle Health is a payments company for US healthcare practices whose Practice Management Bridge platform takes patient card payments, sends text-to-pay links, runs payment plans and posts insurance payments into your practice management software (PMS). Dental is one of six specialties it lists. Plans start at $40 a month, and payment processing fees, from 1.99%, are charged on top, the vendor’s pricing page says (checked October 21, 2026).
Quick verdict
Rectangle Health fits a dental practice or group that wants card payments, text-to-pay and payment plans tied into its PMS, with insurance payer payments posted automatically through its PayerSync product. The vendor names Open Dental, Eaglesoft and CareStack among the dental systems that get one-click posting. Its pages don’t describe eligibility checks or claims submission.
Capterra gives it 4.7 out of 5. That listing covers the whole Practice Management Bridge platform, has only 26 reviews, and only a few are from dental offices, all about the compliance tools. Many reviewers call it easy to use. The complaints that come up most are support that is hard to reach and a confusing compliance portal; card readers that drop their connection and price come up too. Before you sign, get your processing rate in writing, ask how cancellation works, and confirm the integration for your PMS version.

What is Rectangle Health?
Rectangle Health is a US company that processes payments for healthcare practices and sells software around them under the name Practice Management Bridge. The vendor says it was founded in 1993 and serves 37,000+ organizations and 161,000+ users. It works alongside your PMS; its enterprise FAQ says plainly that it does not replace it.
The platform has four parts on the vendor’s site:
- Bridge Payments for the patient side: card payments at the desk and online, cards on file, text-to-pay, payment plans and patient financing.
- PayerSync for insurance payments. The vendor says it automates virtual card payer payments, standardizes Explanations of Payment (EOPs) and posts payments to patients’ accounts, so staff stop keying them in from faxes and envelopes.
- Bridge Compliance for HIPAA and OSHA policies, training and tools.
- Bridge Engagement for appointment reminders, scheduling and patient reviews.
The footer of every saved page says Rectangle Health is a registered Independent Service Organization of Fifth Third Bank and Wells Fargo Bank, and a registered partner of Elavon. The pricing page says the service is available only to US-based healthcare organizations and only in English.
Dental shows up often in the vendor’s own material. Its testimonials quote an office manager at a DDS practice, a practice manager at a pediatric dental practice, and Great Lakes Dental Partners, whose VP of revenue cycle says A/R went from $8 million to below $3 million in a little over 18 months. Those are customer quotes the vendor chose to publish, with no method behind them.

Rectangle Health’s pricing, home and enterprise pages list these features. Which plan includes which is set out in the Pricing section.

- Payment plans and recurring payments, plus integrated patient financing
- Automatic payment posting: one-click posting to named PMSs, including Open Dental, Eaglesoft and CareStack, per the integrations page

Rectangle Health vs. what an insurance and billing tool should have
Rectangle Health meets the PMS write-back and security must-haves, and lists reporting, integrations and multi-location support. Our checklist for this section was first written for insurance verification tools, so the eligibility, benefits and verification rows don’t apply to a payments platform. They are marked Not listed with a note saying so.
Must have
| Feature | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Real-time eligibility checks | Not listed | Doesn’t apply: Rectangle Health is a payments platform and its pages don’t describe verification |
| Full benefit breakdowns (deductibles, maximums, frequencies, waiting periods, limitations, history) | Not listed | Doesn’t apply, for the same reason |
| Payer coverage stated | Not listed | PayerSync handles virtual card payer payments, but no payer list is given. The home FAQ names Zelis as an integrated system. |
| Results write back to the practice’s PMS | Listed | One-click posting to Open Dental, Eaglesoft and CareStack, among others; two reviewers, neither in a dental office, say payments carry over to their records system |
| BAA offered / security and HIPAA information published | Listed | Security page says it offers a BAA to all covered entity customers and describes encryption, hosting and audits |
Should have

FDA status and privacy
Rectangle Health has no FDA listing under the vendor’s name: we searched the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases on October 21, 2026 and found none. The saved pages don’t mention the FDA. On privacy, the vendor’s security page says it offers a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) to all covered entity customers.
The FDA search used openFDA’s 510(k) and PMA device databases, with Rectangle Health as the applicant name and, for 510(k), the device name.
A payment processor for a dental office handles both card data and patient health information, and the vendor’s security page addresses both. What it says:
- Bridge Payments is PCI DSS validated. Card data is tokenized at capture, encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2+ and at rest with AES-256, and raw card numbers are never stored.
- On patient data, the vendor says it maintains HIPAA compliance across the Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rules, and that PHI is encrypted in transit and at rest the same way.
- Hosting is on AWS across multiple availability zones, with business continuity and disaster recovery plans and 24/7 monitoring.
- Testing and audits, per the vendor: annual third-party penetration testing, independent audits across PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST and SOC 2, and a third-party risk management program for its own vendors.
Those certifications are the vendor’s statements, and its pages disagree on one detail. The home page FAQ lists “SOC 2 Type I”, while the pricing page lists “SOC 2 Type 2”. No audit report is in the pages we saved. The security page offers security documents on request, so ask for the SOC 2 report and the BAA before you connect patient data.
Pricing
Rectangle Health’s Bridge Payments plans start at $40 a month, and payment processing fees start at 1.99% and are charged separately, the pricing page says (checked October 21, 2026). Your processing rate depends on your volume and payment mix, and you get a custom quote. Enterprise pricing is by contact only.
Three plans are listed, without a price for each:
- Online Payments (“Practice Essentials”): digital payment processing plus collection tools such as Text-to-Pay and Payment Plans.
- Healthcare Payments (marked “Best Value”): the full patient and payer payments set, including PayerSync.
- Payments + Compliance (“Beyond Payments”): everything in Healthcare Payments plus HIPAA Compliance Management, which the page lists as training, policies, Business Associate Agreements, an annual risk assessment and more.
The vendor says every plan includes secure processing, online payments, card on file, reporting, personalized onboarding and 24/7 support, and that most organizations are onboarded within weeks. On contracts, it says only that agreements are flexible and terms are reviewed during onboarding. One reviewer says it took three months to close their account, so ask for the cancellation terms in writing.
The home and enterprise pages give results figures: 80% of organizations collected more, payer payments came 50% faster and staff spent 30% less time chasing payments. PayerSync, the enterprise page adds, cuts payment processing time by 12 days and gives back 20+ staff hours a month. No study is named behind any of these numbers. Treat them as marketing and measure your own A/R before and after.
Pros (from user reviews)
Capterra reviewers mostly praise Rectangle Health for being easy to use and for helpful support. The sample is small, 26 reviews, and only a few are flagged as dental offices, all writing about the compliance tools. The payment comments come from medical, chiropractic, optometry and veterinary offices.
- Many reviewers call it easy to use, simple or user friendly, across both the payment and compliance tools. One office manager says it is easy to train new staff on.
- Several praise support or customer service. An optometrist in August 2025 says they needed an extra terminal after setup and it arrived right away.
- Several say the compliance tools helped them become compliant with HIPAA and keep staff training current. An orthodontist likes keeping track of BAAs and training certificates in the portal.
- Two, neither in a dental office, say payments go straight into their EHR or EMR. One office manager chose it because it “works with our EMR and crosses payments over better.”
- A few like looking up past payments, pulling payment reports or balancing cards at the end of the day.
- Two mention the encrypted email; one uses it to send confidential patient documents.
- One admin likes scheduling payments that process automatically on a set date.
Cons (from user reviews)
Rectangle Health’s Capterra complaints center on support that some find hard to reach and a confusing compliance portal, with a couple of complaints each about card readers and price. Each theme comes from a few reviewers at most, and only one complaint comes from a dental office.
- Two say the card reader or terminal drops its connection. One front desk reviewer says it sometimes “takes the card but does not actually process it.” Another says a restart fixes it.
- A few complain about support. One business manager says it got hard to reach them, an office manager calls the remote help “very rude and snippy,” and an owner says support was “the worst.”
- That reviewer, an owner who had sold the practice, says closing the account took three months and they kept being charged $88 to $102 without any charges being processed.
- Two say it costs too much. One says the company was bought by private equity and “increased the cost by a lot.”
- A few say the compliance portal is hard to find their way around, including one orthodontist who says information seems duplicated.
- One office manager says integration scripts have to be rewritten when an update breaks them, and each office has to call in separately. A veterinary reviewer says it isn’t fully integrated with their software.
- One admin says updates are frequent and sometimes fail; another dislikes working across two screens.
Three things to know about the sample. Capterra marks most of the reviews as incentivized. The reviews from 2019 to 2021 describe the compliance product, which reviewers call OfficeSafe or PCIHIPAA (names the saved vendor pages don’t use), while the reviews from 2022 to 2025 are mostly about card payments. And no review in the sample describes PayerSync.
Who it’s for
Rectangle Health suits a dental practice or group that wants one vendor for card processing, text-to-pay, payment plans and payer payment posting, connected to a PMS it already runs. If you use Open Dental, Eaglesoft or CareStack, the vendor says you get one-click posting. Groups get multi-location reporting and permissions, and the top plan adds HIPAA training and policy tools if you don’t have those yet.
Look elsewhere if you need eligibility checks or claims submission; Rectangle Health’s pages describe neither. If your PMS isn’t on the integrations page, ask what “works with 500+ systems” means for your setup before you sign. And because Rectangle Health is also your card processor, compare its processing rate with your current one, since the monthly fee is only part of the cost.
FAQ
How much does Rectangle Health cost?
From $40 a month, plus processing fees that start at 1.99%, the vendor’s pricing page says (checked October 21, 2026). The monthly fee covers the software; processing rates are quoted separately based on your volume and payment mix. Per-plan prices aren’t published.
Does Rectangle Health work with Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental?
Yes for Eaglesoft and Open Dental, per the vendor, which lists one-click posting for both and for CareStack. For Dentrix, the integrations page lists “Dentrix Pay” with payments embedded. Ask the vendor to confirm what that means for your Dentrix version.
Does Rectangle Health verify insurance or submit claims?
No, not according to its pages. PayerSync handles the payment side of insurance: the vendor says it automates virtual card payer payments, standardizes EOPs and posts payments to patient accounts. You’ll still need another tool or your own staff for eligibility checks and claims.
Does Rectangle Health sign a BAA?
Yes, per the vendor. Its security page says it offers a Business Associate Agreement to all covered entity customers, and the top pricing plan lists Business Associate Agreements among its compliance tools. Ask for the agreement and the security documents before you go live.
Is there a long-term contract?
The vendor doesn’t say. Its pricing FAQ says agreements are flexible and terms are reviewed during onboarding. One Capterra reviewer says closing their account took three months, so get the cancellation terms in writing.
Is Rectangle Health FDA cleared?
No FDA listing was found under Rectangle Health’s name in the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, searched October 21, 2026. The saved vendor pages don’t mention the FDA.
How this review was put together
We didn’t use Rectangle Health ourselves. This review is built from eight Rectangle Health pages (home, pricing, solutions for providers, enterprises and partners, security, HIPAA gap assessment and integrations), a search of the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, and all 26 reviews on Rectangle Health’s Capterra listing, “Practice Management Bridge”, written between October 2, 2019 and September 23, 2025. All sources were checked on October 21, 2026.
A theme was counted only when a review stated it, and themes are described with quantifier words matched to those counts. Figures and testimonials on the vendor’s pages are reported as the vendor’s claims. We didn’t search for published studies.
