Elva Review: An AI Receptionist and Front Desk Suite for Dental Practices, Pricing on Request

Elva says its AI receptionist answers calls and books into the PMS, alongside online booking, recall, texting and insurance tools. Pricing is on request, we collected no user reviews, and every results figure is Elva’s own.

Elva review

Elva is Elva Health Technologies’ AI workspace for dental practices that, per the vendor, answers phone calls, books appointments into the practice management system (PMS), runs recall and patient texting, and works insurance claims. Pricing is on request, we didn’t collect any user reviews, and every results figure on the saved pages is the vendor’s own claim with no study named (all checked October 24, 2026).

Quick verdict

Elva is aimed at a dental practice or group that wants one vendor for the phones, online booking, recall, texting and insurance work, on top of the PMS it already runs. The vendor names seven PMS systems it says it reads from and writes to. Its insurance page says it signs a business associate agreement (BAA) with every practice, and its integrations page says a signed BAA is “available for every practice”.

The gaps are plain. None of the saved pages gives a price for Elva. We didn’t collect any user reviews, so nothing here tells you how support or the AI holds up in a real office. No outside security certification is named. The results figures, such as “$80k+ recovered revenue / yr”, come with no study, sample or method. And Elva’s own integrations page disagrees with itself about which PMS systems it supports. Before you sign, ask Elva to show the booking write-back on your exact PMS and version, send its security documentation and the BAA, and put the price and contract terms in writing.

What is Elva?

Elva is a set of AI tools for the dental front office that, the vendor says, runs alongside a practice’s existing PMS. The vendor calls it an “AI Workspace for Dental Practices” and says it covers “calls, insurance, claims, recall, forms” in one system “built only for dentistry”.

Elva says the receptionist answers every call “day, night, weekend, holiday”, takes several calls at once, speaks 30+ languages, checks real provider availability, books into the PMS and verifies insurance during the call. For pain or emergency calls, the vendor says it asks structured questions, protects a same-day slot under your rules and alerts your team, and that “It doesn’t diagnose and it doesn’t give medical advice”. Calls that need a person go to staff as a warm transfer with a written summary, and staff can listen in or take over a live call.

The vendor describes a review mode in which Elva proposes actions and waits for staff approval, and a “capability matrix” that sets what it may do on each channel. You switch to running on its own when you’re ready, it says. The insurance module works the same way: your team confirms each claim during training, and Elva says it suggests autopilot only after about 200 confirmed claims. Setup for the insurance module is done by Elva’s team, and the vendor says “There is no self-serve setup.”

Beyond the front desk, Elva sells insurance and revenue cycle tools (eligibility checks, prior authorizations, claims, denials, payment posting, EOB processing and deposit matching) and Voice AI, which the vendor says listens during the visit, drafts a SOAP note, flags allergies, medications and conditions the patient mentioned, and proposes an odontogram and treatment plan with CDT codes and fees, all for the dentist to review, edit and sign. The vendor says “the clinical judgment stays yours” and that nothing syncs to the PMS until the dentist signs, and that visit audio is deleted once the note is built.

What Elva’s own figures say

Every figure in this table is a marketing claim from Elva’s own pages. None of them names a study, the practices behind it, the time period or how it was measured, so treat them as questions for the sales call.

Claim (as Elva states it) Where it appears
$80k+ recovered revenue / yr; 97% verified pre-visit; 32+ hrs reclaimed / wk; 90% of admin tasks automated; 15+ new patients booked monthly Home page
90% less time spent confirming appointments; 75% increase in completed bookings Online booking page
25+ appointments booked from recall monthly; 90% reduction in manual recall tasks; outbound calls “converting 2x better than text alone” Recall page
65% fewer patient no-shows; 95% routine patient questions handled Two-way texting page
98% First-Pass Acceptance (claims submission); “Autonomously verify 100% of patient benefits”; “1000+ hours of research and input from over 50 dentists” Why Elva page

Elva’s pages also make claims we have no way to check. They call Elva “the only AI in the industry trained exclusively on dental operations and procedures” and, on the recall page, “the only system that actually picks up the phone for you”. Elva’s “Why Elva” page has a chart comparing itself with five named competitors. The chart gives no method, and we don’t repeat its grades.

Key features

Elva’s front desk features are the AI receptionist, online booking with card-on-file checks, recall by call, text and email, two-way texting, and forms and check-in, as described on its pages saved October 24, 2026:

  • AI receptionist: answers calls around the clock and in parallel, books, reschedules and cancels in the PMS, and offers other times when a patient calls to cancel. The vendor says every call is recorded with a transcript.
  • Call reports: a “Booking barriers” report that sorts callers who didn’t book by reason, such as out of network or date too far out.
  • Online booking: the vendor says it reads live PMS availability, follows scheduling rules such as “No crowns after 4 PM”, checks insurance eligibility during booking, and writes the appointment straight into the schedule. The booking page is white-labeled with your logo and colors.
  • Booking checks: Elva says it can require a card on file or a deposit, and calls the patient after booking to confirm.
  • Recall and reactivation: outreach by text, email and automated outbound calls for overdue hygiene and for unscheduled treatment plans, with 50+ pre-built templates and editable scripts. The vendor says patients drop off the recall list as soon as they book.
  • Two-way texting: AI replies to patient texts in the patient’s language, booking and rescheduling in the thread, photo messages (for example an insurance card), payment links and review requests, with one inbox where staff can take over.
  • Reminders and confirmations: by text, email or call, with confirmations written back to the schedule when a patient replies “Yes”.
  • Digital forms, kiosk and mobile app: forms sent by text that sync to the PMS, iPad check-in that runs eligibility, and an iOS/Android app with a daily brief.
  • Multi-location tools: a recall performance view across offices, and a self-hosted private cloud option for DSOs.

Elva vs. what a front desk tool should have

Elva lists four of the five must-haves on our front desk checklist, including live PMS booking and a stated BAA. The fifth, support that responds, can’t be judged because we have no user reviews. The main gaps are elsewhere: no public pricing, no contract terms and no mention of booking from Google.

Must have

Feature Status Note
Online booking with real-time PMS availability Listed Vendor says booking reads PMS availability in real time and writes appointments back
Syncs with the practice’s PMS Listed Seven PMS named with two-way sync, per the vendor; payments post to the ledger only “where the system supports it”. The page’s own FAQ names fewer systems
Automated appointment reminders and confirmations Listed Text, email or call; replies write back to the schedule
BAA offered / security and HIPAA information published Listed Vendor says it signs a BAA with every practice; no outside certification named; security documentation on request
Support that responds Not listed No user reviews to judge from. The saved pages’ footer links a Help Center and gives a contact email, but the pages don’t describe support hours

Should have

Feature Status Note
Recall and reactivation Listed Hygiene and unscheduled treatment, by call, text and email
Waitlist or automatic filling of cancellations Listed Vendor says Smart Calendar “fills cancellations”; no waitlist is described
Booking from Google and the practice’s website Listed White-labeled booking page for the practice site
Digital intake forms that write back to the PMS Listed
Insurance capture or eligibility verification Listed During calls, at online booking, at the kiosk and the day before the visit
Public pricing Not listed Pricing on request
Contract terms stated Not listed The home page mentions a trial; no length or cancellation terms

Nice to have

Feature Status Note
AI receptionist or call answering Listed Vendor says 30+ languages and parallel calls
Two-way texting with patients Listed
Deposit or card on file at booking Listed
Front-desk reporting Listed Call “Booking barriers” report and recall performance by location; show-rate and new-patient-source reports and more
Multi-location support Listed Tiers for 2 to 15 offices and 20+ locations

The PMS list needs a check of its own. Elva’s integrations page shows seven systems with descriptions of each, and the insurance page says “every feature is available on all seven”. The FAQ on the same integrations page answers “Which PMS platforms does Elva currently support?” with “Open Dental, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Open Dental today”, naming Open Dental twice and leaving out the other four. The vendor says it is an Authorized API Partner of Open Dental and that its Dentrix integration “is built on an official API partnership with Henry Schein”. Ask Elva to confirm your exact PMS and version, and which features run on it.

Pricing

Elva’s pricing is on request (checked October 24, 2026).

Who it’s for

Elva fits a dental practice that runs one of the seven PMS systems Elva names and wants the phones, booking, recall, texting and insurance work handled by one vendor. The vendor pitches it to solo offices that can’t staff the phones, to groups of 2 to 15 offices, and to DSOs with 20+ locations, which also get a self-hosted private cloud option.

If you want just an AI receptionist, Elva sells it as one part of a larger platform, and the saved pages don’t say whether you can buy it alone. Look elsewhere, or press hard in the demo, if you need a published price, contract terms in advance, independent reviews from other practices or a named outside security audit before you buy. None of those is on the saved pages. And if your PMS isn’t one of the seven, the vendor says to contact it and that “new PMS support ships in days, not months”, which you should get in writing.

FAQ

How much does Elva cost?

Pricing on request (checked October 24, 2026). Elva’s saved pages give no price of its own for the receptionist or any other module, and the site asks you to book a demo.

Does Elva work with Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental?

Elva says yes. Its integrations page lists Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Curve Dental, Denticon and CareStack, with two-way sync. The same page’s FAQ names only Open Dental, Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend, so ask Elva to confirm your exact PMS, version and the features that run on it.

Does Elva sign a BAA?

Elva says it does. Its insurance page says Elva signs a BAA with every practice, and its integrations page says a signed BAA is available for every practice. Its privacy policy says patient data is governed by the BAA between Elva and the practice. No outside security certification is named on the saved pages, so ask for the security documentation the vendor says it provides during evaluation.

Does Elva replace front desk staff?

Elva says no. The vendor describes its receptionist as covering after-hours, overflow and simultaneous calls and handing anything that needs a person to your team with a summary. Staff choose which call types go to a person and can take over a live call.

Are Elva’s results figures independent?

No. Figures such as “65% fewer patient no-shows” and “$80k+ recovered revenue / yr” appear on Elva’s own pages with no study, sample, period or method named. None of the sources we collected gives an independent figure. Ask for references from practices your size on your PMS.

How this review was put together

We didn’t use Elva ourselves. This review is built from 11 pages on Elva’s website (home, AI receptionist, Voice AI, integrations, Why Elva, solutions, insurance, two-way texting, online booking, recall and the privacy policy) and a search of the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, all checked October 24, 2026. Every feature, integration, security statement and results figure here comes from those pages and is the vendor’s own claim.

We didn’t collect any user reviews, so there are no pros and cons from users. We didn’t search for published studies. The front desk checklist is a first version, written from another vendor’s pages and reviews, and Elva was scored on it the same way as every other tool.
