Dentistry Automation Review: AI Insurance Verification and Payment Posting

Dentistry Automation automates dental insurance verification, payment posting and claims follow-up. Its home page makes broader claims than its product pages, which describe a narrower scope set practice by practice.

Dentistry Automation review

Dentistry Automation is an AI revenue cycle service for dental practices and DSOs that verifies patients’ insurance from the appointment schedule, posts insurance payments and tracks unpaid claims inside your practice management software (PMS). The company behind it is based in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Its home page leads with big numbers (98% of payments auto-posted, 99% data extraction accuracy, 80% fewer denials), yet those are the vendor’s own claims with no named study, and the vendor’s payment posting page says it doesn’t publish a universal automation or accuracy rate.

Quick verdict

If you want insurance verification and payment posting run for your practice or DSO, with your staff handling only the exceptions, Dentistry Automation is built for that. It publishes a price for verification ($3.50 per verification), names the PMSs it works with and states its cancellation terms.

The catch: its site speaks in two voices. Its home page promises a setup in one afternoon, a full benefits breakdown for every patient and payments posted with no human needed. The eligibility verification and payment posting pages say payer access, benefit fields and PMS write-back are confirmed during discovery, that timing depends on your setup, and that staff still review uncertain items. Plan on what the careful pages say. Before you sign, ask which of your payers and which PMS fields are in scope, what your quote is for posting and claims tracking, and for the BAA. We have no user reviews to weigh against the vendor’s account.

What is Dentistry Automation?

Dentistry Automation is a service that takes three back-office jobs off your front desk: checking patients’ insurance before visits, posting insurance payments to the ledger and following up on unpaid claims. The vendor says it runs overnight, works inside your existing PMS and needs no new software for your team to learn.

For verification, the vendor describes a six-step process. It reads the appointment schedule, matches each patient to their plan, logs into supported payer portals or other configured sources, organizes the benefits that come back, writes supported details to mapped PMS fields and sends anything missing or unclear to staff. The home page says its bot logs into 2000+ payer portals overnight.

For payment posting, the service collects ERA (X12 835) data, EOB details and payer-portal remittance, finds the matching claim, prepares ledger entries and posts clean items where the PMS connection allows. Uncertain matches, unusual adjustments and missing data go to an exception queue. The payment posting page points to a published case study with a six-location DSO, where the service pulled daily Stripe patient payments and matched each one to the right patient plan. On the verification side, the vendor’s case study with Specialty Dental Brands says the service retrieved insurance details, updated the PMS and produced eligibility reports, and reports less administrative work and faster access to eligibility details, with no figures.

The claims tracker is described only on the home page: it monitors claim status, flags aging claims, downloads EOBs and alerts your team to denials. Its site menu also names Medicaid verification, patient credit card payments, A/R follow-up and a DA Verify developer product, none of which the saved pages describe.

The vendor’s home page carries four testimonials from named customers, including Specialty Dental Brands and Smile Orthodontics. These are quotes the vendor chose to publish, and they aren’t independent reviews.

Key features

Dentistry Automation’s main features, as its home, eligibility verification, payment posting and pricing pages describe them, are schedule-driven benefit checks, payment posting with an exception queue, claims tracking and multi-location controls. The vendor’s list:

  • Appointment-driven verification: checks upcoming patients from the schedule, with scheduled and on-demand timing and targeted rechecks
  • Benefit fields: active coverage, annual maximums and remaining benefits, deductibles, coverage percentages, frequency limits and service history, waiting periods, missing-tooth clauses, downgrades and coordination of benefits, each when the payer returns it
  • Exception routing: missing subscriber data, failed portal logins or MFA, records that don’t match and incomplete responses go to staff instead of being marked verified
  • Payment posting: ERA and 835 data, digital EOBs and portal remittance are listed as configured support; paper EOBs, checks, EFT and ACH, and virtual cards are “confirm in discovery”
  • Adjustments and write-offs: maps supported adjustment codes and applies the write-off rules you agree on; unusual amounts go to review
  • Reconciliation: compares remittance, claim, ledger and payment totals, and bank deposits only when settlement data is connected
  • Claims tracker: claim status monitoring, aging flags, EOB downloads and denial alerts (home page only)
  • Multi-location controls: per-location rules, exception ownership, audit history and reporting on volume, completion and exceptions
  • Credential handling: the vendor says it documents the access method, owner, credentials and fallback for each payer before going live
  • DentalBridge API: a PMS integration layer the vendor sells to software companies; its published case study is with Gain AI
  • Support and reporting: 24/5 support by phone, email and chat, a real-time dashboard and monthly performance reports, per the pricing page

Dentistry Automation vs. what an insurance and billing tool should have

Dentistry Automation’s pages list benefit breakdowns, PMS write-back, scheduled verification, contract terms and every nice-to-have. Real-time eligibility, payer coverage, security and BAA information, claims, pricing and support are partial, and patient cost estimates aren’t listed. With no user reviews in our data, every status below rests on the vendor’s pages.

Must have

Feature Status Note
Real-time eligibility checks Partial On-demand rechecks are listed; the main workflow runs ahead of the schedule, and no check time is given
Full benefit breakdowns (deductibles, maximums, frequencies, waiting periods, limitations, history) Listed Each field “when the payer makes those values available”; incomplete responses go to staff
Payer coverage stated Partial The home page claims 2000+ payer portals; the payer list linked in the footer wasn’t among the saved pages
Results write back to the practice’s PMS Listed To mapped fields, with scope confirmed per PMS and version during discovery
BAA offered / security and HIPAA information published Partial HIPAA and SOC 2 Type II badges and a credential-handling process; no BAA, security page or SOC 2 report in the saved pages

Should have

Feature Status Note
Automated or batch verification ahead of appointments Listed Reads the schedule and runs overnight, per the vendor
Patient cost estimates Not listed
Claims submission or claim status tracking Partial Claim status tracking on the home page, which also says denials are caught and resubmitted; how claims are submitted isn’t described
Public pricing Partial $3.50 per verification; posting and claims tracking are quoted
Contract terms stated (length, cancellation) Listed Month-to-month with no lock-in, or annual with a 30-day cancellation window
Support that responds Partial 24/5 phone, email and chat support listed; no user reviews to show how it responds

Nice to have

Feature Status Note
AI features Listed The vendor says its AI reads ERAs and EOBs and a bot logs into payer portals
Reporting and analytics Listed Dashboard, monthly performance reports, and reports on volume, completion and exceptions
Open API / third-party integrations Listed DentalBridge API
Multi-location support Listed Location-level rules and central status for DSOs

FDA status and privacy

Dentistry Automation has no FDA listing under the vendor’s name: we searched the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases on October 19, 2026 and found none. The saved vendor pages don’t mention the FDA. On privacy, the vendor’s footer says the company is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type II, but no BAA or audit report was in the pages we saved.

The FDA search used openFDA’s 510(k) and PMA device databases, with Dentistry Automation as the applicant name and, for 510(k), the device name.

The footer of the home, pricing, insurance verification and payment posting pages claims “HIPAA Compliant” and “SOC 2 Type II” status, next to a SOC 2 Certified badge naming AICPA Trust Services. Its pricing page lists “HIPAA compliance and data security” as part of every plan. Those are the vendor’s statements. We didn’t see the SOC 2 report itself, and none of the five pages mention a Business Associate Agreement. A service that logs into payer portals and writes into your patient records will handle PHI, so ask for the BAA and the SOC 2 report before you share credentials.

On payer logins, the eligibility page says portal access is set up as part of implementation, “not an emailed password list”. The vendor says it documents the permitted access method, the person responsible, the credentials needed and a fallback for each payer before verification runs live, and that it defines authorized users and handles each payer’s multi-factor requirements. Ask who at Dentistry Automation can see your portal credentials and where they’re stored.

Pricing

Dentistry Automation charges $3.50 per verification, according to its insurance verification page (checked October 19, 2026). Its pricing page gives no other prices: it describes volume-based tiers where your cost per verification or payment drops as volume grows, and a custom quote based on your volume, PMS and use case.

What the pricing page says, as of October 19, 2026:

  • You pay for verifications processed, payments posted and claims tracked, with no per-user or per-location fees.
  • There are no setup or implementation fees.
  • Annual prepayment gets a 10 to 15% discount.
  • Month-to-month plans can be canceled anytime; annual plans have a 30-day cancellation window.

The two pages don’t quite match. The pricing page says “We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all pricing”, while the verification page gives a flat $3.50 and calls it “A clear price for a configured verification workflow.” Ask whether $3.50 is the starting tier or the price for every practice, and get the posting and claims prices in writing.

Its pricing page also claims that most practices save 7+ hours per week and recover 4% in lost revenue, and that savings typically exceed the subscription cost within 30 days. Dentistry Automation names no study behind those figures. Its own ROI calculators are more modest about what they show: they assume 65% of current manual effort shifts to automation and exception review, and they leave out software fees and implementation costs.

Who it’s for

Dentistry Automation fits a practice or DSO that wants verification, payment posting and claims follow-up handled by one outside service, on one of the PMSs it details (Denticon, Open Dental, Dentrix or Eaglesoft), and that has staff to work an exception queue. The published verification price and month-to-month option let you estimate cost and limit your commitment before you sign.

If you run several locations, the vendor’s pages describe location-level rules, central status and audit history, and the payment posting page points to a published case study with a six-location DSO. If you’re a software company, DentalBridge is the product aimed at you.

Look harder if your PMS is one of the 16 on the home page list without detail on the product pages, if you rely on paper EOBs or checks (both “confirm in discovery”), or if you need patient cost estimates, which none of the saved pages list. If you want independent proof, our sources don’t have it: no study, and no user reviews.

FAQ

How much does Dentistry Automation cost?

$3.50 per verification, the vendor’s insurance verification page says (checked October 19, 2026). Payment posting and claims tracking are priced by volume on a custom quote, with no setup fees and no per-user fees. Annual prepayment gets a 10 to 15% discount, per the pricing page.

Is the 98% auto-post rate real?

It’s the vendor’s claim, and the pages we saved show no study or customer data behind it. Dentistry Automation’s own payment posting page says it “does not publish an unsupported universal automation or accuracy rate” and lists clean-post rate as a number to measure during your pilot. Ask for that measurement on your own payers before you rely on it.

Does Dentistry Automation work with Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental?

Yes, per the vendor, along with Denticon and 16 other PMSs on its home page list. The product pages add that which fields it can read and write depends on your PMS version, hosting model and setup, and that “A named PMS does not imply every field, module, hosting model, or version is supported without validation.” Ask what writes back in your system.

Does Dentistry Automation sign a BAA?

The saved pages don’t say. The vendor’s site shows HIPAA Compliant and SOC 2 Type II badges and describes how it handles payer portal credentials, but none of the five pages we saved mention a Business Associate Agreement. Ask for the BAA and the SOC 2 report before you connect patient data.

Does Dentistry Automation replace the insurance coordinator?

No, by the vendor’s own description. Its verification page says your team remains responsible for judgment, payer follow-up, patient communication and the cases automation can’t resolve, and its posting page says staff still review uncertain matches, denials and coordination of benefits.

Is Dentistry Automation FDA cleared?

No FDA listing was found under Dentistry Automation’s name in the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, searched October 19, 2026. The saved vendor pages don’t mention the FDA.

How this review was put together

We didn’t use Dentistry Automation ourselves. This review is built from five vendor pages (home, pricing, insurance verification, payment posting and the interactive demo) and a search of the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, all checked October 19, 2026. We didn’t search for studies, and no user reviews were in the data we collected, so the review has no pros and cons from users.

Figures on the vendor’s pages are reported as the vendor’s claims. The numbers in the interactive demo are sample data and weren’t used. The claims tracker, payer list and security pages weren’t among the pages we saved.
