Mango Voice is a cloud phone platform for healthcare practices that puts calls, texting, fax, AI call summaries and an AI receptionist named Margo in one system, sold by the company of the same name. It serves dental offices and DSOs alongside optometry, chiropractic, veterinary and other practices, and its pricing page lists three plans from $119 a month (checked October 21, 2026), without saying which phone count or billing period that price is for. Its Capterra rating is 3.7 out of 5, and most of those reviews were written in April and May 2022.
Quick verdict
Mango Voice suits a dental office that wants a VoIP phone system tied to its PMS, so the patient’s name and chart come up when the phone rings, with call recording, fax and texting in the same place. Capterra reviewers often praise the support, how easy it is to use and how well it works with dental software such as Open Dental, X-L Dent and Yapi.
The weak spot is reliability. Many reviewers, including several dentists, describe outages and dropped calls, and many describe support that was hard to reach, mostly while the phones were down. Nearly all of those complaints date from spring 2022. The handful of reviews written since are mostly positive, but there are too few to tell you the problem is fixed. Before you sign, ask Mango for its outage history since 2022, which PMS versions it integrates with, whether it will sign a business associate agreement (BAA), and what the one-time implementation fee is.

What is Mango Voice?
Mango Voice is a phone company for healthcare practices that sells AI features on top of its phone service. The vendor calls it “the AI voice platform” for healthcare and says it is “trusted by thousands of practices across healthcare”. Its solutions menu also has separate pages for DSOs and other groups.
The base product is the phone system. When a patient calls, Mango says their name and number appear on screen as the phone rings, and with an integration the call pop also shows contact details, appointment history and balance from your PMS. Staff can answer on a desk phone, a desktop app or a mobile app. Mango says the mobile app shows patients the business number instead of a personal one, and that calls made through it can be logged and recorded.
On top of that sit two AI products. Mango AI transcribes and summarizes every call, rates the sentiment of the patient and the office, and writes the summary back to the patient record, per the vendor. Margo is the AI receptionist, which Mango says answers “every call your team cannot get to”. A demo on the home page shows Margo capturing a caller’s name, intent (scheduling) and preferred appointment time. The saved pages don’t say whether Margo books into the PMS schedule or passes requests to staff.
Mango also says it owns the infrastructure behind its features instead of building on another company’s, and its pricing FAQ claims 99.99% uptime across seven data centers. Those are vendor claims.
Key features
Mango Voice’s main features are its phone system with caller ID and call pop, texting and fax, call recording and analytics, Mango AI call summaries and the Margo AI receptionist, as described on its home, integrations and pricing pages saved October 21, 2026. The vendor says the platform has over 100 features in all.
- Caller ID and call pop: the patient’s name and number appear as the phone rings. With an integration, Mango says the pop pulls contact details, appointment history, balance and more from your PMS.
- Integration features: the vendor lists contact sync, AI summary write-back, one-click calling, a patient file link, mobile app calling and SMS hosting.
- Missed call dashboard: shows who needs a callback and who has already been called back.
- Call recording and voicemail: included, per the vendor, which also lists voicemail transcription and an auto-attendant among its features.
- Reporting and call analytics, built in.
- Texting and fax: the vendor lists texting and “secure fax”. It says the desktop app handles calls, texts and voicemail in one place.
- Mango AI: transcripts, summaries and sentiment ratings for every call, written back to the patient record. The home page demo also shows talk speed and hold time.
- Margo: an AI receptionist for calls staff can’t answer, included around the clock in the AI Suite plan.
- Desk phones, desktop app and mobile app. The desk phone setup is optimized for Yealink phones, per the vendor.
- Outage fallback: if your internet goes down, Mango says you can forward all calls to a cell phone through the mobile app, or to any US number by hand.
- Phone Coaching Program: listed in the site menu. The saved pages don’t describe it.
Mango Voice vs. what a front desk tool should have
Mango Voice is a phone system, so it covers a different part of the front desk than the booking tools our checklist was first written for. Of the five must-haves, PMS sync is partial, support has mixed user reports, and online booking, automated reminders and a published BAA aren’t listed on the saved pages. It does better on the nice-to-haves: an AI receptionist, texting and multi-location plans are all listed.
Must have
| Feature | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Online booking with real-time PMS availability | Not listed | Margo’s demo captures a preferred appointment time; the pages don’t say it books into the PMS |
| Syncs with the practice’s PMS | Partial | Vendor lists call pop, contact sync and AI summary write-back but names no PMS on the saved pages; reviewers name several dental systems |
| Automated appointment reminders and confirmations | Not listed | |
| BAA offered / security and HIPAA information published | Not listed | No BAA or HIPAA statement on the saved pages; “secure fax” is listed |
| Support that responds | Reviews only | Many reviewers praise support; many others, mostly in 2022, say it was hard to reach during outages |
Should have
| Feature | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Recall and reactivation | Not listed | |
| Waitlist or automatic filling of cancellations | Not listed | |
| Booking from Google and the practice’s website | Not listed | |
| Digital intake forms that write back to the PMS | Not listed | |
| Insurance capture or eligibility verification | Partial | A contact view in a demo shows the patient’s insurance carrier and balance from the PMS; no verification is described |
| Public pricing | Listed | Three plans on the pricing page; group pricing on request |
| Contract terms stated | Partial | Monthly or yearly billing and a one-time implementation fee; no contract length or cancellation terms |
Nice to have
| Feature | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|
| AI receptionist or call answering | Listed | Margo, in the AI Suite plan |
| Two-way texting with patients | Listed | Texting is part of the platform; reviewers describe texting patients |
| Deposit or card on file at booking | Not listed | |
| Front-desk reporting | Partial | Call analytics and a missed call dashboard; show rates and new-patient sources aren’t mentioned |
| Multi-location support | Listed | Group pricing for three or more locations, DSO pages and a named account manager |
FDA status and privacy
Mango Voice has no FDA listing under the vendor’s name: we searched the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases on October 21, 2026 and found none. The saved Mango Voice pages make no HIPAA, BAA or security certification claims.
Mango says it records calls, transcribes them, writes AI summaries back to the patient record and pulls balances and appointment history into the call pop, so patient information passes through its systems on every call. The site footer links to a Privacy Policy and an Acceptable Use Policy, which we didn’t save, so we can’t say what they contain.
Pricing
Mango Voice pricing starts at $119 a month for the Phone Suite, with the Premier Suite at $219 a month and the AI Suite at $419 a month, according to its pricing page (checked October 21, 2026). Every plan also needs a one-time implementation fee, and the page doesn’t give the amount.
| Plan | Price | What the vendor lists |
|---|---|---|
| Phone Suite | $119/mo | Unlimited calls, secure fax, dedicated onboarding, in-house support |
| Premier Suite | $219/mo | Everything in Phone Suite, plus Mango AI |
| AI Suite | $419/mo | Everything in Premier, plus Margo, 24/7 AI receptionist |
| Groups of three or more locations | Pricing on request | Group pricing by location count, pre-onboarding consultation, named account manager, migration support |
The pricing page has a monthly or yearly switch and a phone count selector (1 to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 10 and 11 to 15 phones). The saved text doesn’t say which billing period or phone count the listed prices are for, so ask for a quote for your number of phones. Mango says you get free phones if you pay annually.
For new practices, Mango advertises a startup plan with no charges until your open date, a free business phone number and a first-year discount, without a price. Reviewers add a few points of their own on cost: several say Mango cost less than their previous phone provider, while two say it gets pricier as you add users, and one reviewer in August 2024 says the price doubled at renewal after an audit of their user count that they say was wrong.
Pros (from user reviews)
Capterra reviewers most often praise Mango Voice’s support, its ease of use and how it works with their practice software. About three in ten reviews come from dental offices, and the integration praise comes mostly from them.
- Support is helpful and quick, according to many reviewers, including several dental reviewers and most of the recent ones. An office manager who left Weave over its customer service wrote in April 2022 that Mango’s support is quick to resolve issues. An IT project manager in May 2025 says the account rep “white gloves” their issues.
- Many call Mango Voice easy to use or easy to set up, including several dentists. Some of them give low ratings anyway and say it’s easy to use when it works.
- Many say it works with their PMS or other practice software, and most of those reviewers are in dental offices. They name Open Dental, X-L Dent, Yapi, Flex, Legwork and ABELDent. A dentist using X-L Dent wrote in May 2022 that one click dials the patient and caller ID opens the patient’s chart.
- Several like using the office number away from the office, through the mobile app, the softphone or call forwarding. A dental COO wrote in May 2022 that staff can call patients from the practice number during on-call hours or weather closures instead of using personal cell phones.
- The switchboard and call routing get praise from several reviewers, who say they can change greetings, reroute calls when staff are out and set phone schedules. One calls the call tree drag and drop.
- Call recording, for going back to check what was said, gets praise from several reviewers; one uses the recordings to train staff. Several also like the caller ID that shows who is calling, most of them dental reviewers.
- On price, several say Mango cost less than their previous provider or was good value.
- Texting with patients and faxing from the computer each get praise from several reviewers. A dental office manager wrote in April 2022 that patients get an automatic text when a call is missed, and that texts are linked to patient charts.
The AI products get little coverage in the reviews. Two recent reviewers, in April and June 2026, mention call transcription, and the April review also mentions AI virtual reception. No reviewer mentions Margo by name.
Cons (from user reviews)
Capterra reviewers’ main complaints about Mango Voice are outages, dropped calls, support that was hard to reach during those outages, and the mobile and desktop apps. Nearly all of the outage and support complaints were written in April and May 2022, and several describe the same weeks.
- Outages are the biggest complaint: many reviewers, several dentists among them, say their phones or lines went down and patients couldn’t call in. Several describe outages on Mondays or on the East Coast in spring 2022. An owner and dentist wrote in April 2022 that the downtime was “atrocious” and that they can’t know how many patients they lost. A March 2026 reviewer who gives 5 stars still says the phones don’t work when the service is down.
- Many describe dropped calls. An office manager in August 2026 says calls still drop sometimes, though they aren’t sure Mango is the cause.
- Many say support was hard to reach or slow to fix problems: long waits, no callback, and no time estimate during outages. One waited 30 to 40 minutes to reach someone. Many other reviewers praise support, so experiences vary.
- Many report problems with the mobile, desktop or web app, such as signing out, freezing, a blank screen, calls that don’t connect and a weaker Android app. Most of these reviewers aren’t in dental offices. A reviewer in June 2026 says the app regularly signs you out, so you can’t answer calls.
- Call quality is a problem for several reviewers, who describe lag, echo, static or trouble hearing the other person. Two of them wrote in 2025 and 2026.
- Setup, onboarding or number porting was hard for several reviewers. A few describe porting problems, and a dentist in May 2022 says Mango couldn’t port their numbers after several attempts, so they cancelled. Another dentist says porting was easy.
- Several reviewers find the switchboard or admin settings hard to figure out, or say they have to call support to change a setting.
- Integration gaps come up in several reviews: an orthodontist says Mango doesn’t integrate with their orthodontic software, and another reviewer wants it to send automatic appointment reminders through Curve.
- A few describe sales or billing problems, such as promises that weren’t kept, a credit not received and an invoice billing wouldn’t correct. A few also say the phones stop when their internet does.
- Texting falls short for a few, who want to send images, text from the mobile app or flag conversations. The call reports are basic, a few others say; a dental COO wants to export them to Excel.
The April and May 2022 burst and the incentives go together: Capterra marks every review from those two months as incentivized, and the reviews without incentives all came later. Most reviews give Mango Voice 4 or 5 stars, while about one in five give 1 or 2 stars. The reviews written after May 2022 are mostly positive, but there are only a handful of them.
Who it’s for
Mango Voice fits a dental practice that wants its phone system, texting, fax and call recording in one place, wired into its PMS so the patient’s chart opens when they call. Dental reviewers on Open Dental, X-L Dent and Yapi say the integration works for them, though the saved Mango pages name no PMS. AI call summaries start with the $219 plan, and Margo, the AI receptionist, is only in the $419 plan.
If you can’t afford a phone outage, ask for references from dental offices on your PMS, the outage record for recent years and how support handles a down line.
Look elsewhere, or plan on a second tool, if you want online booking, automated reminders, recall or intake forms: the saved Mango pages don’t list them.
FAQ
How much does Mango Voice cost?
Mango Voice lists three plans, from Phone Suite at $119 a month, Premier Suite with Mango AI at $219 a month, and AI Suite with the Margo AI receptionist at $419 a month, checked October 21, 2026. Every plan has a one-time implementation fee that the page doesn’t state.
Does Mango Voice work with Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental?
The saved Mango Voice pages don’t name any PMS. The vendor says it integrates with practice management systems in dental and other fields, with features such as call pop and AI summary write-back. Capterra reviewers mention Open Dental, X-L Dent, Yapi and others, but none of the reviews we read mention Dentrix or Eaglesoft, so ask Mango to confirm your exact system.
Does Mango Voice sign a BAA?
The saved Mango Voice pages don’t say. They don’t mention a BAA, HIPAA or a security certification, and the only security wording is “secure fax”. Ask Mango for a signed BAA and its security documentation before you move patient calls and texts onto the platform.
Is Mango Voice reliable?
The sources disagree. Mango says it runs at 99.99% uptime across seven data centers, while many Capterra reviewers, mostly writing in April and May 2022, describe outages and dropped calls, and many say support was hard to reach during them. Later reviews are mostly positive but too few to judge current reliability, so ask Mango for its recent outage history.
What does Margo, the Mango Voice AI receptionist, do?
Margo answers the calls your team can’t get to, around the clock in the AI Suite plan, according to Mango. A demo on the home page shows it recording the caller’s name, reason for calling and preferred appointment time. The saved pages don’t say whether Margo books directly into your PMS, and no Capterra reviewer mentions Margo by name.
Is Mango Voice listed with the FDA?
No FDA listing was found under Mango Voice’s name in the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, searched October 21, 2026. Mango Voice is phone and communication software, and its saved pages don’t mention the FDA.
How this review was put together
We didn’t use Mango Voice ourselves. Our Mango Voice review is built from three Mango Voice pages (home, pricing and integrations), a search of the FDA’s 510(k) and PMA databases, and all 111 of Mango Voice’s Capterra reviews, written between April 26, 2022 and August 11, 2026. All sources were checked on October 21, 2026.
We counted a review theme only when a review states it, and we didn’t look for published studies. Most of the reviews were written in April and May 2022, so they describe the product as it was then. The front desk checklist is a first version, written from another vendor’s pages and reviews.
